PSYCHOTHERAPY

While we can’t change the past, we are all born with the capacity to grow and to thrive throughout our lives. Therapy can help you find and nurture the you that you want to be. My style is engaged, collaborative and practical. One of the most important aspects of effective therapy is a relationship where you feel accepted and supported. Together we will explore feelings, discuss choices, and practice behaviors to access and strengthen your inner resources, and reduce problems that impede change. Therapy can help you feel better, more at peace and better equipped to deal with life.

People come to see me when they are dealing with:

Anxiety  |  Depression  |  Traumatic events - both past and present
Relationship difficulties  |  Family and parenting issues
Grief and loss  |  Stress management  |  Life transitions

I offer psychotherapy services in both individual and group settings. Read on for additional information.

INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOTHERAPY SESSIONS

People come to therapy for a wide variety of reasons.  In a safe and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach to meet your individual needs. I support people in finding their way through challenging situations. I am told I am like a “real person” and offer practical, useful advice and counsel to help you lead a more satisfying life.

I offer a blend of approaches to psychotherapy that I have used and studied. I am strongly influenced by current neurobiology that promotes the brain’s resilience and supports the importance of the relationship in our ability to manage and feel our feelings.

I am certified in Accelerated Emotional Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and have training in and am influenced by Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, mindfulness and many years of dedicated yoga practice.

I see adolescents, adults, and couples.

Treatment specialization includes:

  • Depression and Anxiety
  • Trauma - both past and current
  • Stress Management
  • Postpartum Issues
  • GBT Issues
  • Work and Career Issues
  • Relationship Problems
  • Grief and Loss
  • Parenting and Family Issues

Please Note:

Often my practice is full for psychotherapy clients. It is unfortunate because I truly want to be able to help you. I occasionally offer a special group or workshop or have other news to share about my practice. Please add your name to my email list (below) if you would like to be informed.

PSYCHOTHERAPY WORKSHOPS + GROUPS

Sometimes, a certain theme seems to be everywhere in my and/or my clients’ world, that is when I create a workshop or group.

A group is a wonderful way to come together to learn about and deal with a specific topic or issue. We learn, actually have some fun and take home new ways of understanding.

Special groups might be  on a specific topic or issue such as:

  • New Moms and Parenting
  • Dealing with Anxiety
  • Prepare and prevent the college search craziness with your teen
  • and…more!

Sign up below if you would like to stay informed + learn when these kinds of groups are happening.
